Our Funds

The Bursary Fund

Since its foundation in 1905, Godolphin and Latymer has been committed to ensuring its education is accessible to girls of intellectual promise from all backgrounds. Until 1976, it was grammar school within the state system and charged no fees. The Governing Body took the decision to revert to full independent status in 1977 to preserve the school’s academic tradition. The Bursary Fund was established the same year to ensure that bright girls whatever their financial circumstances could attend.

Around one in ten pupils in each year currently receive financial support. Our aim is to increase this further. It costs £500,000 to set up one full Bursary in perpetuity, around £150,000 to support one pupil with a full Bursary throughout her time at Godolphin.

The opportunity to study at Godolphin and Latymer transforms lives. Donations of any amount can make a difference.

The Annual Giving Programme

The Annual Giving Programme supports small but significant projects throughout the School. Academic departments submit requests for funds, their proposals are assessed by the school’s Senior Team who then allocates funds to projects which will benefit the largest number of pupils.

Past projects have included; funding the purchase of musical instruments, upgrading recording technology and the refurbishment of the science laboratories.

Read about the current Annual Giving Programme projects here.

Volunteering

We offer lots of opportunities for members of the Godolphin and Latymer community to get involved with Development activities. The Team always needs extra pairs of hands at events such as the Gala Dinner, the Christmas Bazaar, the Sponsored Walk and various other events throughout the year.

Look out for emails from the Development Office team asking for volunteers, or do not hesitate in getting in contact to learn more about upcoming opportunities.

Sponsorship

If you or your business would be interested in sponsoring one of our events please email our Development Director, Julia Hodgkins.

Leaving a Legacy to Godolphin and Latymer

All gifts of whatever type and size will benefit current and future generations of Dolphins. You may decide to specify how you would like your legacy to be applied. Alternatively, if you leave your legacy to be applied at the discretion of the School it will be diverted to the area of greatest need at the time it is realised. If you are considering leaving a legacy to the School in your estate planning, please contact our Development Director, Julia Hodgkins.
