News Ghent Rowing Camp 2024 18.04.2024

Over the Easter break, over 40 rowers in Years 10 to the Upper Sixth travelled to Ghent in Belgium for the Boat Club’s annual rowing camp.

Training over at least 24 km on the water each day enabled our rowers to sharpen up their technical skills in preparation for the summer regatta season, including races such as the National Schools’ Regatta, Henley Women’s and Henley Royal Regatta. Water training was supplemented with ergo work in the gym, and balanced with revision slots before and after lunch. All the rowers and coaches gathered together to watch the University Boat Race, on Saturday 30 March, cheering on either the light or dark blues. All squads had a chance to both row and scull, and for many of the J15s this was their first experience of taking a single scull out on water.

A successful and productive time was had by all rowers, as we start the Summer Term.
