News Year 7 Production of ‘Scrooge’ 09.12.2022

Year 7 students have been spending their lessons this half term learning lines to Scrooge, the musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas tale, which culminated in an entertaining and energetic adaptation performed by the whole of the year group on Thursday evening

Students have been encouraged to work as an ensemble throughout the production, and nothing exemplified this collaborative spirit more than by having each form performing a scene, with five different Scrooges, four Bob Cratchits and four ghosts of Christmas all sharing stage time. Away from the stage, there was also some fantastic work behind the scenes from our lighting and sound operators, Zara and Caroline, who kept the show running under the tutelage of Mr Jenkins.

The production was a wonderful celebration of collaborative work and such a fabulous way to end the term. For many students it was the first time they have performed in front of a large audience in a theatrical production, so we congratulate them on their outstanding work. Thanks to Mr Jenkins, the Drama and Music departments, and to our Lower Sixth and Year 10 backstage helpers for making the show a success.
