News Year 7 History Trip to St Albans 24.03.2023

This week saw Year 7 head to St Alban’s Cathedral as part of their history studies on medieval England. St Albans Cathedral is the oldest site of continuous Christian worship in Britain and it stands over the place where Alban, the first martyr, was buried after giving his life for his faith over 1700 years ago.

Completing pilgrim and monastery trails around the cathedral and engaging in workshops on brass rubbing and illuminated lettering, students had the opportunity not only to learn more about the role of religion in medieval society but also to channel their creativity as they acted out the roles of medieval monks and pilgrims.
