On Saturday the Godolphin and Latymer Model United Nations society had the privilege of taking part in the West London MUN Conference at the American School London. This was our first time taking part in this conference which had the very relevant theme of Truth and Democracy, given the current situation in Ukraine.
Awareness of our global context of crisis gave this conference a special atmosphere of co-operation with delegates keen to work together to negotiate solutions to global issues such as nuclear weapons, child soldiers and cryptocurrencies. It was the first conference for a number of Year 10 students who participated really well: special mention should go to first-timer Noor who was awarded Best Speaker in the Security Council. Well done also to Ella and Dia (Year 11) and Katie (Lower Sixth) who were also awarded Best Speaker for their committees, reflecting their growing skill as speakers and negotiators.
Thank you very much to the staff and students from ASL and Mulberry School for Girls who worked hard to put on this conference.
