News Tech Team Receive Youth Achievement Award 06.05.2021

We were delighted to learn that Year 8 students Kyra, Olivia, Alex, Alice and Harper received the Hammersmith and Fulham Youth Achievement Award for their work in collecting computers and IT equipment for local children missing out on online schooling during the pandemic.

The Hammersmith and Fulham Youth Achievement Awards celebrate the diversity of achievement and talent of young people in the local area. The girls were winners of the ‘Young person who has made a significant contribution to others’ category having collected over 100 pieces of essential IT and computer equipment for West London community group Ready Tech Go who wiped the equipment, refurbished it and distributed it to wherever it was needed the most.

Speaking during their acceptance speech at Tuesday’s virtual event, the girls said, ‘It was a real team effort to collect all the tech and we are grateful to all the kind people who donated and helped us with the logistics, including our mums, our school and of course, Ready Tech Go for refurbishing everything and passing it on. Lockdown was quite isolating for everyone and it was nice to feel part of a community and to be helping other young people’.

Congratulations to Kyra, Olivia, Alex, Alice and Harper on their award and many thanks to all of the Godolphin families who donated equipment to this fantastic initiative.
