News Spotlight on Well-being Week 11.10.2019

This week saw our second annual Spotlight on Well-being week, organised and run by the Student Well-being Committee.

The week aimed at raising awareness of the importance of looking after our mental, physical, and emotional health on a daily basis. We have seen the girls enjoy a wide range of activities, with everything from relaxation and meditation, to reflection and mindfulness, to cookie decorating and a film screening of ‘Monsters University’ as a break from schoolwork. Our inaugural Open Mic session during Monday lunch was a huge hit, leaving the girls clamouring for more performances, and a mass ‘Just Dance’ session allowed everyone to let off some much-needed steam at the end of the week.

The committee supported World Mental Health Day by handing out smiley face stickers to prompt discussion around mental health, and a talk from Childline professionals encouraged practical tips for dealing with mental health issues and caring for ourselves.

We hope the week has inspired everyone in school to take good care of the well-being both of themselves and of others.
