News ‘Old Friends’ in the West End 07.12.2023

A Level musicians visited the Gielgud Theatre in the West End for a performance of Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends on Monday evening.

Old Friends is a celebration of Sondheim’s work and an affecting tribute to the game-changing composer. Our A Level students are well-versed in Sondheim’s work and his impact on 20th-century musical theatre, having studied him at length in lessons. The performance was fantastic with Broadway legends Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga (voice of Princess Jasmine and Mulan in the animated Disney films) taking centre stage.
