We are delighted to welcome Beth Lane to the school as our ‘Coding Champion’. This is a new role in response to the growing appetite amongst our students for computing and coding. Increasing numbers of girls are studying the subject at GCSE and this summer will see our first students sit the A Level. Ms Lane is a former Head of Computing who is taking time out to complete a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. She will be supporting the GCSE and A Level students in their coding inside and outside of the classroom. Being in school on Fridays means that Ms Lane will be leading the Robotics Club which this term has the added excitement of working on the First Tech Robotics kit, generously funded by the PTFA.
