News Bronze in National Schools‘ Regatta 09.06.2022

Godolphin rowers put in a number of fantastic performances (including our J16s securing a bronze medal) at the National Schools’ Regatta in Dorney just before half-term.

On Friday, the J14 A octo had a fast time trial, but didn’t qualify for the semi-finals. The J14 B octo qualified for the B-final, where they had a great race to finish second. A J15 quad also raced on Friday, as well as two J15 fours. The J15 A four did brilliantly to make the A-final, and finished fifth.

Saturday saw the J16s and J18s race. The J18s competed in the Championship eights and coxed fours. The eight did well to finish fifth in the B-final, and the four made the A-final, finishing sixth. The stand out result from this regatta, was from the J16 four. Finishing third in their semi-final, they raced fantastically well in the A-final to gain a bronze medal.

And finally on Sunday, our Captain of Boats, Libby McDonald, raced in the Championship single sculls, but didn’t progress from this tough event. Our Championship pair also raced, and did extremely well to make the A-final, where they finished fifth.

NSR 2022 had some great performances from our rowers, with a bronze medal won for our J16s. Well done to all the rowers, coaches, and supporters.
