Higher Education and CareersPlanning for the future

Our Higher Education and Careers programme starts in Year 7 as students begin to think about the subject areas that most interest them and discover the wide range of careers that are available to them. Careers education is central to preparing our students for the realities of the workplace and the school engages with the Gatsby Benchmarks in order to provide effective careers guidance. All pupils across the school have access to two key platforms: Unifrog and Morrisby.

In addition, there are a series of microsites which all pupils have access to via their iPads. These cover a wide range of areas related to Higher Education and Careers including:

  • Applying to study in the UK
  • Applying to Oxbridge
  • Applying to study abroad
  • Gap Years
  • Year 11 Future Focus for work experience advice
  • Careers (including degree apprenticeships)

For relevant year groups, details of internships, work experience opportunities, MOOCs, taster lectures, summer school courses and much more besides, are shared with students so that they can make the most of these opportunities. We also publish a podcast series: The Pod – which features our alumnae who share their higher education and career journeys. This, and much more information about our inspiring alumnae, can be found on the Sixth Form section of the website.
