For September 2025
The Godolphin and Latymer School is one of the country’s leading independent day schools for girls, located on a six acre site in Hammersmith, London. The School’s facilities are excellent, making it an exciting place to learn and work. The students at Godolphin and Latymer receive unrivalled academic and pastoral support and outstanding examination results are achieved.
Both curricular languages and extra-curricular activities are highly popular within the large Modern Foreign Languages faculty. The students are talented linguists and there is a strong focus on skills development and independent learning. All members of the faculty contribute to the thriving extra-curricular and visits abroad programmes. Our thriving Sixth Form programme offers a choice for students between A Levels and the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for two enthusiastic and well-qualified Teachers of MFL to join the school from September 2025 on a permanent and full time or 0.8 FTE basis.
Applicants would ideally have the ability to teach two languages between French, Italian and Spanish up to and including KS5; those who can offer French with German as a second language will also be considered.
The salary will be commensurate with the post and will depend upon qualifications and experience.
Fully completed application forms must be returned to recruitment@godolphinandlatymer.com by noon on the closing date. Please note that applications must be made on the school’s application form. Neither CVs nor late applications will be accepted.
The closing date for this vacancy is noon on Wednesday 26 February 2025.
It is anticipated that interviews will take place on Tuesday 4 March 2025.
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants and all applicants will be required to provide details of their online profile, including social media accounts, as part of their application.
All staff working in the School during the school day will have contact with children and will therefore be in regulated activity. As a teaching member of staff you will be working directly with, and be responsible for, the children that you teach. You are also likely to have contact with other pupils on a regular basis which may include specific pastoral or other responsibilities for pupils whom you do not teach.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.”
