News School Charities 2025-2026 27.11.2025

This year each year-group has nominated a charity which they will be working with and raising money for throughout the year. The first major event is the PTFA Christmas Bazaar; all proceeds from the bazaar will go to the student charities which are as follows:

Year 7: Evelina London Children’s Charity

This charity aims to provide compassionate and trailblazing care for children and their families through donations that improve both parent and patient experience that go beyond what the NHS can provide. Because the charity focuses on young people, there is a very personal connection for our students.

Year 8 WWF

The WWF (World Wildlife Fund) is an excellent charity for our Year 8s to support because they are concerned about the growing numbers of endangered animals. Without the support of the WWF Year 8s are worried that the future of animals like tigers, pandas and elephants is under threat from climate change and the loss of habitat.

Year 9 Shooting Star Children’s Hospices

This is a wonderful charity that provides supportive care for children with life-long illnesses. The charity not only gives incredible aid to the patients but also supports their families whilst their children are undergoing care. Year 9 feel a real connection with the charity because Shooting Stars’ patients are of a similar age.

Year 10 Mind

Year 10 chose Mind because they feel it is a cause which is close to them. They felt it was very important to support a charity that provides guidance and help for anyone struggling and were particularly drawn to Mind’s commitment to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and making mental health resources more accessible.

Year 11 Freedom4Girls

Freedom4Girls is a UK-based charity working to combat period poverty in the UK and Kenya. A cause that resonates with the Year 11s, Freedom4Girls helps improve access to safe period products, promote education on menstrual health, and raise awareness about the global impact of period poverty while inspiring positive, lasting change within affected communities.

Sixth Form The British Red Cross

Our Sixth Form students feel passionate about supporting a charity focused on helping people in areas of conflict, as this is a prominent issue in the world right now. They also want to support a charity with a global focus. The British Red Cross works tirelessly in the UK and abroad to provide vital support like shelter, food, water and medicine to people in desperate need.
