Settling in at Year 7
A smooth transition

Every year, girls join Godolphin and Latymer from many different feeder schools and we aim to help them make new friends and settle in as quickly as possible; helping girls feel at home is our priority.

The pastoral team – consisting of the Deputy Head (Pastoral), Assistant Head: Safeguarding and Pastoral Care, the Head of Lower School, Head of Year 7 and Co-tutors for each form – oversees the transition for each girl. We take a collaborative approach supported by proactive communication between the school, parents and carers. Parents will receive a handbook which includes everything they need to know to support their daughter in the first few weeks.

Leaders and form tutors closely monitor individual pupils' participation to ensure their needs are met and that they are not overloaded or put under undue pressure. The co-curricular programme makes a major contribution to the development of pupils' emotional, social, creative and physical skills.
