Year 8 visit Hampton Court

Posted: 26/04/18

The whole of Year 8 travelled to Henry VIII's Hampton Court Palace to discover the hidden stories of Britain's royal past.

Pupils learnt about the religious changes under the Tudors and the Elizabethan Crisis and were engaged enthusiastically throughout. We were able to tour the main features of the palace including: Henry VIII’s apartments, the Privy Chamber, the Haunted Gallery and the Royal Chapel seeing some fantastic art and architecture as we did so. As the weather was kind, we were able to picnic on the lawns and stroll through the gardens surveying the land which key historical figures such as Cardinal Wolsey and Henry VIII would have previously owned.
