News Hockey Celebrates Strong Performances and Standout Achievements 18.11.2025
It has been an exciting few weeks for hockey at Godolphin, marked by impressive team performances and notable individual achievements. The 1XI progressed in their Independent Schools Hockey Cup campaign in style, hosting Kimbolton and delivering a dominant 6–2 victory to secure their place in the third round of the competition.
Meanwhile, the U16s travelled to Framlingham for their England Hockey Tier 2 knockout fixture. Despite a 3–1 loss to a very strong home side, the girls produced an excellent performance, matching their opponents right up to the final whistle. A superb save from Jane in goal, combined with commanding midfield displays from Elise and Jessie, formed the backbone of some outstanding team play throughout.
Looking ahead, the U15s continue their ISHC journey this week with an away fixture against Tunbridge Wells Grammar School, and we wish them the very best of luck.
The hockey programme also celebrates significant individual successes. Monica, a key member of the 1XI, made her Premier League debut for Surbiton Ladies 1s and has been selected for the England U18 squad — a tremendous achievement. In addition, Old Dolphin and former 1XI captain Astrid Roper earned her first international cap, representing Denmark’s U21 indoor team.
It is inspiring to see Godolphin players continuing to excel and pursue their passion for hockey long after their school careers.
