News Godolphin choirs sing Choral Evensong at St Albans Cathedral 18.11.2021

On Monday, our combined Junior and Senior Chamber Choirs sang the service of Choral Evensong at St Albans Cathedral.

The repertoire was by our composer in residence Kerensa Briggs (who joined the congregation to hear her works performed) and included the anthem Seek Ye, the Windsor Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis and the world premiere of a new set of Preces and Responses composed for the occasion. 40 students from Year 8 to the Upper Sixth took part, and they were accompanied by the organist was Seb Gillot, a former Organ Scholar at Trinity Hall, Cambridge – a post currently held by an Old Dolphin.

Singing in such an ancient and beautiful building was a very special experience for our singers. The choirs can next be heard at our Christmas Carol Service on Tuesday 14 December.
