Expand Horizons

Taking part in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a wonderful way to expand horizons and challenge boundaries.

Spend Time in the Great Outdoors

At any one time over 250 girls will be participating in the Bronze, Silver or Gold Awards.

Develop Skills

The Bronze and Silver Awards are divided up into four sections: Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition. In addition, girls undertaking the Gold Award have to complete a Residential section.

Formulate Personal Goals

Assessors help you formulate your goals, monitor your progress and sign off each section once you have completed it.

Challenging Expeditions

For their Expedition section girls have to complete both a practice expedition and an assessed expedition in a variety of locations such as The Chilterns, The New Forest and Dorset.

GLTV

Monthly episodes of school news, filmed and edited by the girls in GLTV club.

Houses

Extending across all year groups, the ethos behind the house system is about inclusivity and stimulating enjoyment.  Activities range from individual pursuits such as chess or photography,  to collaborative events on a larger scale such as drama or singing.

Visits

Educational visits are an intrinsic part of School life. Over 140 visits took place last year designed to enrich cultural awareness, extend academic boundaries, support personal development and embrace exciting opportunities.

World Challenge

The perfect opportunity to extend beyond their comfort zone; the expedition involves trekking, volunteering and total immersion in a different culture.
