News Celebrating Success in Computing and Robotics 05.03.2026

It has been a busy Spring Term for the schools’ Computer Scientists. At the end of February, eighteen students from Years 10 to Lower Sixth took part in the global coding competition Codequest. Around 180 students in teams of three took part in the competition held at the offices of Lockheed Martin in Havant. Students were required to use their problem‑solving abilities, collaborate effectively, and apply their coding skills to complete a series of timed challenges of varying difficulty over 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Earlier in the term a team of Year 7 and 8 students took part in the First Lego League competition, which was the culmination of several months of work in Junior Robotics Club. The students presented their innovation project idea to a panel of experts, competed against other schools in a Lego robotics challenge, all while displaying the First Lego League core values. The team was awarded the competition’s Core Values Award for their clear demonstration of the competition’s values including innovation, teamwork and discovery, and received a trophy.

Congratulations to our Computer Scientists!
