News Advanced UK Linguistics Olympiad 03.12.2025

Just before October half-term, twelve students took part in the Advanced UK Linguistics Olympiad. The United Kingdom Linguistics Olympiad (UKLO) is a language-analysis competition. The highest, advanced, level of the Olympiad is always very tricky, but even the organisers acknowledged that it was particularly difficult this year. However, despite a number of students taking part for the first time, we had our highest ever average performance. Congratulations to Charlotte, Upper Sixth, and Sophie, Lower Sixth, who earned Silver awards – putting them in the top 10% of the country – as well as Emily and Mariella, Lower Sixth, and Matilda, Year 11, who secured Bronze – putting them in the top 20%.

Well done to all twelve girls who took part.
