News From Sudetenland to Sudan: Dolphins Debate World Issues at SPSMUN 19.01.2026
A team of Year 10 and Lower Sixth students met up bright and early on Saturday morning for a day full of Model United Nations (MUN) activities at St Paul’s School (SPS) in Barnes. As well as seeking to negotiate solutions to contemporary issues such as the Sudan crisis and the Belt and Road Initiative, students on the Historical Committee were transported back to 1938 and 1950 to discuss the Sudetenland Crisis and the beginnings of what became the Korean War.
SPSMUN was a large conference with more than 200 attendees from across the UK, leading to wide-ranging and rigorous debate in committees and the General Assembly in the afternoon. Given the high calibre of the students in attendance, we were delighted that three Godolphin students won prizes; Aitana, Lower Sixth, was awarded Best Delegate and Bernice and Hannah, also Lower Sixth, were awarded Highly Commended Delegate. Well done also to Aadya, Yasmin and Eva, Year 10, who were debating at their very first conference.
