News Year 7 Follow the Yellow Brick Road to Christmas in Oz 03.12.2025
In the run up to Christmas our entire Year 7 cohort took to the stage for their festive production of Christmas in Oz, a wonderfully joyful celebration of teamwork, imagination, and seasonal cheer. One of the most special aspects of this project was that every single student had spoken lines. The cast was allocated randomly, helping to promote a strong sense of ensemble and reducing any pressure often associated with auditioning. The result was a company of young performers who supported one another brilliantly from start to finish.
The costumes were a particular highlight, filling the hall with colour and creating a warm, Christmassy atmosphere that perfectly complemented the world of Oz. It was clear how proud the students felt stepping into their characters, and their energy was infectious.
Rehearsals have taken place throughout music and drama lessons this term, with a final focused session on Monday to bring the whole show together. The students approached every rehearsal with commitment and positivity, and this hard work was evident in the performance. The cast were fantastic and clearly having a great time on stage, sharing plenty of festive spirit along the way.
We are extremely proud of Year 7 for producing such a lively, heart-warming show. Christmas in Oz was the perfect start to the festive season, and our students should feel very pleased with all they have achieved.
