News Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2025 07.07.2025

We were thrilled to round off the last day of term with the news that we have been shortlisted for Independent School of the Year for our Contribution to Social Mobility.

Our award entry focused on how our means-tested bursary programme and Bridge programme work in tandem to widen access to our school. Our bursary programme provides financial support to girls who have been awarded a place but who otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend. However, we recognise that the journey toward this goal begins long before the offer letter is sent. For many families, especially those unfamiliar with independent education, the idea of applying, let alone navigating the bursary and admissions process, can be overwhelming. That’s where our Bridge programme steps in. The Bridge programme was designed specifically to support families for whom independent schools may seem out of reach. It provides academic enrichment and support for students – including preparation for the 11+ admissions process – whilst providing parents with information about bursary opportunities across a broad range of London independent schools. As a result, almost all Bridge students go on to apply to selective schools across the capital. We currently have more than 20 Bridge students at Godolphin and Latymer, with eight more set to join in September 2025.
