Last Wednesday our Higher Education and Careers team organised a vibrant lunchtime session with Old Dolphin Emily de Vegvar, who is currently studying at the University of Chicago. Emily shared with us the highlights of her US university experience and answered a wide range of questions from our prospective applicants. Topics of particular interest included research and internship opportunities for undergraduate students, the flexibility of Chicago’s distinctive Core curriculum, and the dynamic extra-curricular opportunities offered on campus.
It was exciting to hear from Emily how her academic foundation at Godolphin and Latymer has allowed her to thrive in her fields of interest at university, and how she has continued her extracurricular interests, such as theatre, on campus, having already taken part in two productions in her first year.
Our prospective applicants felt inspired by Emily’s talk and were happy to connect with an Old Dolphin who joined us all the way from Chicago, Illinois. This was the third US talk by an Old Dolphin this year, and we look forward to hosting more events in the coming months.
