News London Anthropology Day 05.07.2023

Tally and Scarlett, aspiring Lower Sixth Anthropology students, took part in London Anthropology Day at the British Museum last week as part of their university preparation programme. During the day, they were able to find out more about the subject and meet academics from different universities, following up on interests garnered through the regular Anthropology and Sociology university preparation sessions.

Starting off with a focus on Biological Anthropology with the University of Cambridge where they had to identify and classify different types of skulls, they then moved on to other sessions on Social Anthropology and the ethics of ethnography. Workshops included universality and diversity in music, politics and relationships in the US and forensic Anthropology amongst many others. There was also a chance to meet and question admissions tutors from universities such as Edinburgh, Oxford, UCL and Cambridge.

Thank you very much to the Royal Anthropological Institute for organising such a stimulating and informative day.
