News Instrumental Ensemble Concert 21.03.2024

On Wednesday evening over 100 of our talented pupils took to the stage to perform a varied and enjoyable programme of music at our Instrumental Ensemble Concert.

The concert highlighted a variety of ensembles, including the Percussion Ensemble, Concert Band, Philharmonia Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, String Ensemble, and the Year 10 String Quartet. Each delivering exceptional performances.

The repertoire for the evening was both diverse and impressive, ranging from classical works by Mozart to beloved Disney melodies. Additionally, the audience was treated to an original composition, by our very own percussion teacher, Mr Neville. A truly standout moment of the concert was the performance of Mozart’s Oboe Concerto in C, led by the talented Josie Russell, whose flawless execution left a lasting impression on all. Her dedication, musicality, and exceptional playing truly embodied the essence of musical excellence.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Mr. Langworthy, Miss Edwards, Mrs. Garcia, and Mr. Neville for their dedicated leadership of ensembles, and to all peripatetic teachers for their crucial role in preparing individual students. Thank you also to all participating students as well as to the parents for their unwavering support and encouragement.

We look forward to continuing to celebrate and showcase the musical talents of our students in the Summer Term.
