News Godolphin in UK Bebras Computing Challenge 06.12.2019

Huge congratulations to Year 7 student Luce who has been selected – from 80,000 participants – to the Final of the UK Bebras Computing Challenge for her age group!

Organised in over 40 countries worldwide, the Bebras Computing Challenge introduces computational thinking to students. The challenges are made of a set of short problems called Bebras tasks that are based on problems that Computer Scientists often meet and enjoy solving. The tasks can be solved without prior knowledge but instead require logical thinking.

The Final involves a day at Hertford College, Oxford in January and the school wishes Luce the best of luck in the competition.

On top of this 90 Year 7 and 8 students did well enough to qualify for the TCS Oxford Computing Challenge in March – an invitation only event which aims to encourage students who have achieved a top 10% score in the UK Bebras Challenge to develop their skills further and produce programmed solutions to computational thinking problems via an online coding competition.
