News Further Maths Project 08.09.2023

At the end of the Summer Term, Lower Sixth Further Mathematicians showcased their mathematical prowess during the Further Mathematics Project. This project, which Godolphin mathematicians have taken part in for the last couple of years, saw them delve into advanced mathematical concepts linked to higher education interests.

The project culminated in an impressive showcase of presentations and posters. Both were scrutinised by the department and peers, leading to the recognition of two outstanding students.

Jessica was awarded the best presentation for her work on the Laplacian and wave equation, impressing both peers and the departmental judges with her ability to explain complex mathematical ideas. We were also delighted to welcome Old Dolphin Javiera Quiroz Fernandez (Class of 2018) back to the school to join the judging panel. Javiera, who completed her master’s in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics at Oxford last summer, and who is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Material Science at the University of Cambridge, awarded the prize for best poster to Immy for her outstanding work on the Dirac equation.

For their exceptional contributions to the Further Mathematics Project, both Jessica and Immy received a £30 book voucher in Friday’s assembly. Congratulations, girls!
