Last week we welcomed 44 families and head teachers from local primary schools to the launch of our Bridge outreach programme.
Mr Golland explained how we hope the academic enrichment programme will help the Year 5 students to ‘bridge the gap’ between primary and secondary education, and between the independent and state school sectors. He also set out how we will be encouraging the children to apply for fee assistance at Godolphin and Latymer and other independent schools.
Lower Sixth student Zoe spoke warmly and movingly about her own experiences as a bursary student at Godolphin and our student Bridge support team were enthusiastic ambassadors, chatting to the parents and children over tea and cake. There was a really excited buzz in the Bishop Centre and we are all now looking forward to the first Saturday morning session in January.
