News Bayeux Tapestry Live Broadcast 14.10.2026

On Wednesday we were very excited to give our Year 7 students a front-row seat at a live schools’ broadcast featuring the Bayeux Tapestry which was scheduled to coincide with the 960th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings. Delivered in partnership with the British Library, English Heritage and Norwich Museum Service, the session was designed to align with this year-group’s learning and to complement their curriculum and provide expert insight.

This special session was hosted via live studio link by Emma-Louise Amanshia, a familiar face from children’s TV, and featured British Museum curators Michael Lewis and Millie Horton-Insch, Students were guided through how the Bayeux Tapestry shapes the story of 1066 and how narrative, perspective and bias affect the history we learn. Supporting resources for the day and follow-up ideas will help extend learning beyond the session. We also hope that some of our Year 7s will be inspired to attend the exhibition!
