News Dolphins Produce Season’s Best Performance at Henley Royal Regatta 01.07.2026

Despite a disrupted final weeks of preparation, our top Eight+ oarswomen delivered their fastest performance of the season at the Henley Royal Regatta.

The build-up to the event was far from ideal, with the heatwave forcing the cancellation of numerous training outings. However, having secured pre-qualification a week earlier, the crew were able to shift their focus towards ensuring they arrived at Henley in the best possible physical and mental condition.

Drawn against a mighty Henley Rowing Club crew in the opening round, the Dolphins faced a formidable challenge. Their opponents had narrowly missed out on a medal at the National Schools Regatta earlier in the season and had been further strengthened by the return of two athletes from injury, both of whom were members of last summer’s Great Britain squad.

Our crew rose to the occasion, producing their quickest performance of the season. Although Henley Rowing Club ultimately proved too strong on the day, the crew’s performance was a fitting reward for their determination and professionalism throughout the campaign.

Congratulations to the entire crew on the outstanding commitment they have shown in reaching one of the sport’s biggest stages. We are really proud of them and of all of the crews who have committed themselves so whole-heartedly to rowing this academic year. We also wish the five Dolphins who are moving on to university clubs next season every success in the next chapter of their rowing careers.
