News Neurodiversity Week: Celebrating Different Minds 16.03.2026

This week we are marking Neurodiversity Celebration Week which runs from 16-20 March. It is a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences and it is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the many skills and talents of neurodivergent individuals.

As part of the week, Year 7 students will explore the concept of neurodiversity during their PSHE lessons and the ILN team will host several informal sessions.

On Monday, there will be a Neurodiversity Club Drop-In to meet the student leaders of the club who will be answering questions about their work. On Wednesday there is a special session titled Celebrating Neurodiversity: Sharing Strengths, Stories and Strategies which invites anyone in the school community who identifies as neurodiverse—or who has someone important in their life with neurodiverse experiences—to come together and share insights. The session will focus on celebrating different ways of thinking, exchanging practical strategies, and building supportive connections across the school community. Our ILN team are also running a special session for staff called Navigating Support for Neurodiversity from a Parent or Family Member’s Perspective.

Together, the week’s activities aim to highlight the strengths of neurodiverse individuals and foster a more inclusive and understanding school environment.
