News Excellent Ensemble at the Spring Chamber Music Concert 06.03.2026

The annual Spring Chamber Music Concert was a wonderful success, featuring an impressive variety of ensembles and performances from across the school. The evening celebrated the breadth of musical talent among students, with a programme that ranged from classical chamber music to jazz and contemporary vocal arrangements.

Among the highlights was the debut of the school’s new jazz ensemble and recorder ensembles, both of which performed with great confidence and enthusiasm. The harp ensemble delivered a particularly memorable opening to the concert with a striking five-harp performance (no less!), while the brass, guitar and flute ensembles all gave excellent and polished performances. The programme also included a number of piano duets, as well as performances by student singers accompanied by fellow students, showcasing the collaborative spirit at the heart of chamber music.

The student-run Year 10 A Cappella group delighted the audience with a lively Pitch Perfect medley, demonstrating both musicality and stage presence. Another standout performance came from the Lower Sixth String Quartet, whose energised rendition of the final movement from Antonín Dvořák’s “The American” String Quartet brought the concert to an exhilarating close.

Altogether, it was a thrilling evening of music-making. Bravo to all the performers who contributed to such an enjoyable and memorable concert.
