G&L FuturesWorkplace Skills
Students take part in our G&L Futures Programme which goes beyond the academics and helps students develop key skills valued by future employers such as problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, resilience and an entrepreneurial mindset. The programme provides students with real-world problem-solving challenges that are fully immersive and experiential by linking up with entrepreneurs and business leaders, our alumnae, and the wider community. We have now developed a range of courses that provide opportunities to work with content experts, community and business leaders and entrepreneurs, supported by teacher-led session. In 2025 we launched the new Middle School Innovation and Leadership Course which is offered as an alternative to a GCSE.
The G&L Futures programme runs alongside the the support provided by our Higher Education and Careers department. They regularly invite parents, alumnae and friends of the school to speak to the girls about the skills and qualities that will help them be successful in the workplace, aside from their academic credentials, and to talk about their own career pathways. In particular, our biennial Careers Discovery Event invites speakers from a plethora of careers to speak to students and parents, including those from the fields of medicine and dentistry, architecture, corporate and social responsibility, finance, technology, law, the civil service, the charity sector, film and tv, song writing, music production and game development.

CO-CURRICULAR PROJECTS

BRIDGE: LSE Generate
Our Bridge outreach programme includes a joint venture between the G&L Futures programme and the LSE.
Over 60 Bridge students participate in a workshop to gain an insight into the world of entrepreneurship. Emily Tout, alumna of LSE Generate and founder of high-protein cheesecake business the Mighty Slice, tasks the Bridge students (with the help of their Godolphin Year 9 mentors) to create a compelling pitch of how she might grow her start-up over the next year. Pupils develop an understanding of the business and the market; develop their ideas and create their branding before developing a final pitch for the growth of Mighty Slice.
