News Year 9 Holocaust Talk and Workshop 08.05.2025

On Thursday 8 May Hephzibah Rudofsky, whose mother survived the Holocaust, came into school to lead a session with Year 9 pupils. Hephzibah’s grandmother had saved several artefacts from her family’s time in Bergen Belsen and pupils were able to view the primary evidence including work cards, medical kits, photographs, postcards, letters and even crockery. Students were able to get a sense of the enormity of the Holocaust by following the journey of one particular family from Holland. This powerful narrative was made more poignant by the personal artefacts, memories and recorded video testimony from Hephzibah’s mother. The session was very moving and helped us to mark 80 years since the liberation of Bergen Belsen.
