News Year 7 Geography Trip to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park 11.06.2025
After summer half-term the Year 7s travelled on the underground to explore the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in east London. Students had been learning about strategies for urban sustainability in class and this was a wonderful opportunity to evaluate the success of a flagship redevelopment project originally driven by the Olympics.
Girls walked around the park, collecting data on the success of the regeneration at four different sites: Westfield, West Ham Stadium, Hackney Wick and the East Village. Students enjoyed the wildflower meadows and the walk along the canal, but the highlight may well have been rolling down a grassy hill at lunchtime! They were brilliant; engaged, enthused, and a great credit to the school. The remaining Geography lessons of the year will see the students analyse their data and evaluate their methods.
