News Upper Sixth Italian Students Visit Bologna, Fidenza and Ravenna 03.11.2026
During the first week of half-term, five Upper Sixth Italian students took part in an unforgettable educational visit to Bologna, Fidenza and Ravenna. Each morning, the girls immersed themselves in four hours of intensive Italian lessons, while afternoons were dedicated to a rich programme of cultural visits and hands-on activities.
In Bologna, they took part in pasta-making workshops, gaining first-hand experience of one of Italy’s most celebrated traditions. In Ravenna, they were captivated by the breathtaking beauty of the city’s world-famous mosaics and then had the opportunity to learn the craft themselves, creating their own stunning pieces. They marvelled at Bologna’s magnificent towers and elegant porticoes, and deepened their understanding of Italian history through a fascinating visit to the Museo del Risorgimento in Fidenza.
Blessed with glorious autumn sunshine, they also enjoyed excellent local cuisine and, of course, some truly outstanding gelato. The students embraced every aspect of the experience with enthusiasm, curiosity and maturity. They had a wonderful time, were warmly praised throughout the trip for their impeccable behaviour, and returned home with improved language skills, greater cultural awareness, and memories that they will treasure for years to come.
