News Rain or Shine: Year 7 Fieldwork at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park 03.06.2026
On Wednesday after half-term, Year 7 students travelled to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford for a productive day of Geography fieldwork. In class, students have been learning about urban challenges and how they can be managed in a sustainable way. The aim of this trip was to evaluate the sustainability of the Olympics-led redevelopment of Stratford.
The day started well, but rain set in once they reached the second fieldwork site, resulting in some rather damp worksheets by lunchtime! Nevertheless, despite the inclement weather, our students showed great resilience and managed to survey five sites across the park.
Back in lessons, their task is now to crunch the data to see the extent to which the regeneration has successfully created a sustainable community. Students will be presenting and analysing their data in groups over the coming weeks.
