News PSHE: Social Jess and Tallulah Bamford from The Body Conversation 29.09.2026

During September, our Year 7 pupils welcomed Social Jess, who worked with them in small form groups to explore how they can navigate the online world with greater confidence and curiosity. The sessions encouraged pupils to think carefully about the difference between what they see online and reality, to question the content they encounter, and to recognise the value of giving themselves space away from their screens. At a time when the digital world plays such a significant part in young people’s lives, these conversations provided an invaluable opportunity to develop healthy habits and critical thinking from an early age.
Social Jess also ran an informative parent webinar, exploring everything from screen time and the ways technology captures our attention to the rapidly changing world of AI, chatbots and deepfakes. Online grooming, cyberbullying, digital footprints and parental controls were also discussed, with plenty of practical strategies for families.

At the end of the month, we were delighted to welcome Tallulah Bamford from The Body Conversation, who worked with pupils in Years 8 and 9. In her Year 9 form-group sessions, Tallulah explored the social expectations placed on the female body and encouraged pupils to consider where these messages come from, how they can affect the way they see themselves, and the impact of the way they talk about the appearance of others.
Tallulah also led a wonderfully positive Year 8 assembly, encouraging pupils to be kinder to themselves and to celebrate their bodies for all that they allow them to do, rather than focusing simply on how they look. Her parent webinar continued these conversations at home, encouraging families to reflect on the everyday language we use around bodies, food and appearance and the powerful role this can play in shaping young people’s attitudes towards themselves.
