News Outstanding Mathematical Olympiad and Kangaroo Results 24.04.2025

We are delighted to share the exceptional results from the Intermediate Mathematical Olympiad and Kangaroo competitions which arrived over the Easter break.

All pupils who qualified for the prestigious Olympiad rounds performed brilliantly, with every student achieving at least a Merit — an award reserved for approximately the top half of around 500 of the country’s most talented mathematicians.

A particular highlight goes to Lucy in Year 10 who earned a Distinction and a coveted Gold Medal for her outstanding score of 48 out of 60 in the Hamilton Olympiad. Gold Medals are awarded to the top 20 pupils nationally, making this a truly remarkable and well-deserved achievement for Lucy. Further congratulations go to Nayeon (Year 9), Camilla (Year 10) and Naomi (Year 11) who were awarded Merits in their respective Olympiad rounds.

In addition to the Olympiad success, our pupils excelled in the Kangaroo follow-on rounds, where changes to the scoring system now reserve Merits for only the top 25% of entrants. Year 9 saw an especially impressive performance of 16 Gold Awards (top 10%) from just 23 entrants.

We are immensely proud of all pupils who took part and look forward to building on this success in the years ahead.
