News NIGO: From Japan with Love Exhibition at the Design Museum 26.06.2026

Year 9 and 10 GCSE Design and Technology students visited the NIGO: From Japan with Love exhibition at the Design Museum, exploring the influence of fashion, branding, culture and trends on contemporary design. Through NIGO’s work, students gained an insight into how successful designers use branding and visual identity to create recognisable products and build lasting connections with consumers.

Students also engaged with the museum’s permanent collections and Future Observatory displays. Year 9 students were introduced to key design principles through the study of iconic products from the museum’s collection, while Year 10 students undertook valuable hands on research to support their NEA contextual challenge. The visit provided an inspiring opportunity to see how design shapes the world around us and to connect classroom learning with real world practice.
