News Matilda Jr. Lower School Production 26.06.2025

In the penultimate week of the academic year the Music and Drama departments treated us to a fantastic Lower School Production of the musical Matilda Jr. Amazing sets, props, lights and costumes – all ably managed by the student tech crew with help from Mr Spicer – set the scene for this adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic tale.

Our wonderful cast of Year 8 and 9 students brought this joyful story to life with everyone involved, from the leading roles to the choruses of kids, showing huge amounts of talent, dedication, energy and commitment. The big numbers including ‘Revolting Children’ and ‘When I Grow Up’ were a fantastic feat of choreography and stage craft, and huge congratulations are due to our student choreographers, Dance Captain and Student Assistant Directors, Rebecca, Sofia, Anoushka, Charlotte, Clementine and Rose. The final number really brought the house down with loud and enthusiastic applause from the packed audience of parents and friends.

Many thanks to our Director and Producer Ms Hargreaves and Musical Director Ms Edwards who were putting on their first show at Godolphin and have set the bar very high!
