News Gold DofE in the Wilds of Brecon Beacons 03.06.2025

The Gold DofE practice expedition to the Brecon Beacons during half term saw 29 Lower Sixth students take on the elements in the Welsh countryside. Difficult conditions, which included strong winds and heavy rain, tested their resilience throughout the trip.  All groups rose to the challenge gaining invaluable experience across the expedition. Gold DofE is a significant undertaking with the girls required to be self-sufficient for four days, carrying everything they need and navigating trails in wild countryside. Completing the expedition was an impressive achievement and something the participants learn a huge amount from.

The Lower Sixth students now look forward to using these skills in their qualifying expedition in the Peak District at the start of the summer.
