News Godolphin and Latymer Model United Nations Conference 22.06.2026

On a hot weekend in June we welcomed 170 students and teachers to Godolphin and Laymer for our Model United Nations conference. This was led by Carolina and Zeynep, Lower Sixth, with support from Lower Sixth student chairs from Godolphin (Aitana, Aphra, Bernice, Lia, Rosie, Sasha and Sophie), as well as guest chairs from other schools.

The majority of the day was spent debating resolutions in committees on a wide range of interesting topics from the Strait of Hormuz crisis to protection of Indigenous languages. The General Assembly Crisis in the afternoon was chaired by Carolina, Zeynep and Sophie considering how the UN should respond to a (thankfully fictional) kidnapping of the G7 leaders leading to much enthusiastic and imaginative solution-finding.

As well as welcoming students from Dulwich College, Fulham Boys’ School, Highgate School, Kings’ College Wimbledon, Kingsdale Foundation School, London Oratory School, Lady Margaret School, Wetherby School, Westminster School and St Paul’s School, a number of Godolphin students also participated as delegates and secretariat. Well done to Nika, Year 10, who was awarded a prize, and a number of Years 9-11 students for whom this was their first conference. Thanks should go to Anne Year 11, Isabel and Isha Lower Sixth for their support with welcome, communications and administration at the conference.
