News G&L Students Shine at National Spelling and Translation Bee Finals in Cambridge 03.07.2025

The National Finals of the Spelling and Translation Bee competitions took place in Cambridge this year, and our young linguists did us proud.

Representing the school in the Spelling Bee were Noemie (Spanish) and Emma (German). Although they faced tough competition and did not progress to the final stages, both performed with determination and poise on the national stage.

The school also saw fantastic success in the Translation Bee. Competing in Spanish were Heloise and Yasmin, with Victoria, Lara (both German), and Bethel Egnaseyos (French) completing the team.

Special congratulations go to Yasmin who achieved 4th place nationally in Spanish, and to Bethel Egnaseyos, who came an outstanding 2nd place nationally in French — an especially impressive feat for a student in Year 8.

We are incredibly proud of all our competitors, whose hard work and commitment to language learning have been exemplary throughout the competition.
