News GCSE Art and Design Exhibition Celebrates Students’ Creative Achievements 05.06.2025

The recent Art and Design exhibition was an inspiring celebration of our GCSE artists’ creative achievements. Showcasing the work of Year 10 and Year 11 students, the exhibition featured both coursework produced throughout the two-year programme and the examination unit completed earlier this year.

A wide range of media was represented, including photography, drawing, oil and acrylic painting, as well as various forms of printmaking. The breadth and quality of the work on display reflected the students’ commitment to their practice and the thoughtful, sustained investigations that underpin their final outcomes.

Particularly noteworthy were the beautifully presented and skilfully crafted sketchbooks, which provided insight into the students’ creative processes. The richness of their explorations and the sophistication with which they handled materials—especially in some of the larger-scale pieces—was deeply impressive.

The exhibition was well attended by students, their families, and members of staff. It provided a valuable opportunity for the Art and Design Department to celebrate the dedication, talent, and growth of our students in partnership with their families. The positive response from attendees reinforced the importance of nurturing creative expression and recognising the hard work that goes into artistic development.

We are incredibly proud of what our students have achieved and extend our thanks to everyone who supported the exhibition, helping to make it such a successful and memorable event.
