News GB Rowing Bronze for Lara plus News from Wallingford 08.05.2025
On Saturday, at the Munich International Regatta, Lara, Lower Sixth, raced for GB U19s in the women’s pairs, winning a bronze medal in the final. Their boat came 1.2 seconds behind gold, the other GB boat in the race, and was pipped by 0.4 sec by Austria into third position. They beat the German, Czech and Polish boats into 4th, 5th and 6th.
On Sunday, in the non-medal races Lara crossed the line in second place in the coxless 4s and 2nd in the final pairs. It was a dominant weekend by the GB female sweep team winning medals across all but one category. Congratulations once again to Lara on a fantastic performance and for representing GB on an international stage!
Meanwhile, back in Blighty at the Wallingford Regatta, six Godolphin Crews raced down the 2k lake at Eton-Dorney. The blustery crosswind conditions proved to be a good testing ground for the National Schools Regatta, and all crews gained valuable experience in multi-lane regatta racing. All of the rowers showcased good resilience in the conditions, with some great rowing setting them up for the final few weeks push into National Schools.
