News ECB National Indoor Finals at Lord’s 21.05.2025

Congratulations to our U13 cricketers who were third at the U13 ECB national indoor finals at Lord’s. This is a really fantastic achievement considering that over 1000 schools entered the U13 age competition.

The day began extremely well with a win against Millfield Prep where we fielded first and held them to 84 runs. We then batted and scored 99-7 in eight overs. Next up was Ipswich School. We batted first, scoring 90-6, but even though Zara got a hat trick of wickets in the 4th over, Ipswich narrowly won by six runs.

After the lunch break and a tour of Lords we played against Dragon School. We batted first steadily scoring 67-7 in the eight overs. We fielded strongly and got an early wicket but in the end lost by 19 runs. In our last match against Stonyhurst we fielded first and despite some quick wickets, they steadily clocked up the runs and finished on 89-8. We started strongly with the bat and with some extras clocked up 69-0 after just four overs. We continued to bat well, getting three batters retired, so we knew we could finish on a high! After our eight overs we had scored 126-2, the highest score of the day!

It was a fantastic day and, despite a couple of losses, being crowned the third best school in the country, against schools from outside London with such strong sporting reputations, was a brilliant achievement. Congratulations to the U13s you did us proud!
