News Autumn Sunshine and Inspiring Landscapes are the Backdrop for Art Department Trip to Worthing 08.10.2026

A Level and IB Visual Arts students, alongside their teachers, spent the day in Worthing exploring the beach and surrounding landscape. Throughout the day, students used film-based manual cameras to experiment with photography, alongside observational drawing and a stamping process to capture impressions of the environment.

More broadly, students used the landscape as an opportunity to consider the themes underpinning their individual enquiries from a different perspective, taking them beyond the confines of the classroom and placing them within a new context. This shift in environment encouraged deeper levels of thinking and prompted inventive approaches to recording and responding to their surroundings.

A fish and chip lunch on the pier, combined with a morning and afternoon spent in glorious autumn sunshine, created a relaxed and reflective day of creative activity by the sea.
