News Sophie, Year 7, Wins National Poetry Award Through Inspiring Voices 16.06.2026

Congratulations to Sophie, Year 7, who was selected as the winner of the 11–14 age category through the Inspiring Voices programme, a national initiative celebrating poetry inspired by England’s historic places, in partnership with English Heritage and TORCH. As part of this achievement, she was invited to attend the Past, Present, Future Festival at the Oxford University Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities on the 5 June, where she presented her winning poem. The workshop and festival activities were designed to develop literacy, confidence, critical
thinking, and creative expression and included a professional poetry workshop led by acclaimed poet Inua Ellams.
